Since 2005, Dr. Tori has worked in public safety. During that time she filled a variety from roles from civilian to sworn law enforcement officer and supervisor. She also volunteered as an instructor for CIT International, teaching crisis intervention techniques to first responders. During her time in public service, she noticed a lack of mental health services within the communities she served.
In an effort to bridge that gap she went back to school, while working full-time in law enforcement. In 2017, she became a licensed therapist in Florida and began private therapy practice in Stuart. She treated clients across the nation for a variety of mental health issues during the COVID-19 pandemic, while continuing her education. In 2022, she earned a Doctorate in Psychology specializing in Crisis & Trauma Management, and is a member of the Golden Key International Honors Society, PsiChi International Honors Society, and the National Society for Leadership & Success. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, EMDR trained, and a Mindfulness-based Practitioner. She now provides telehealth counseling for clients across Florida.
Her passion is creating culturally competent mental health services, resources, and training for the first responder, military/veteran & LGBTQIA+ communities. She believes in a collaborative approach to treatment using creative and evidence-based interventions as a trauma therapist. Her practice prioritizes confidentiality, humor, empathy & compassion.
She is also a member and supporter of the following organizations:
American & Florida Mental Health Counselors Association - Society of Police & Criminal Psychology - International Association of Trauma Professionals - National Board of Certified Counselors - Crisis Team International - Fraternal Order of Police - Police Benevolent Association
